Kettlebell Workout Video

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Last spring, I read an article in Woman's World magazine about a woman that had been in an auto accident, receiving some back injury, which then led to becoming sedenary. She was watching someone on television doing kettlebell exercises. She decided to do it, and not only lost weight, but also found her back had stopped hurting. If I can locate the magazine, I'll post it later, but it could be anyplace, so don't hold your breath.

Anyway, I immediately googled it, and liked what I saw, so I went to Target and bought one. It came with a short dvd, and I did it for about a week. Then my son came over, and talked me out of the whole thing, saying I would get hurt if I dropped it on my foot, etc. So I took it back to the store, but I keep thinking about it. I watched these videos on youtube last night, and have decided to buy another one. From the week I used it, I could definitely see why and how it works...and anything to give me a better workout in a shorter amount of time is for me. I enjoy my walking dvd, but sometimes I don't like taking an hour in the morning, and an hour in the evening to do it...takes time away from hubby.

I'm posting two videos...Dani, I'm only taking 1 pt...the first is a testimonial and the second is a short workout. I found three of four different women that have dvd's on kettlebells, and by the way, I remember Jillian Michaels, of the Biggest Loser, using them and talking about how good they are. I don't think she has a video, though.

Anyway, take a look and see what you think. They come in different weights...you start out low and work up. There are more videos on youtube, and probably articles about them as well.

I'll let you know how I'm doing after I get my new one. I think the 10 pd. is about $15, then you have to buy a dvd, so probably another $15.

Keep crunchin'!

Mary

Mary, check out Callanetics on the net. I love how they look and 20years ago would have been in line to purchase Kettlebells but now my back and knees would not let me do these squats nor most movements. Calllan Pinkney had a back injury and designed slow deep muscle exercise plan.

You are such an encourager...thanks, Anita

This look so cool! I think it would be so much fun, but I may get too into it and end up swinging that bell out the window. hahaha

the prob. with Jillian´s workouts and with these is the wear and tear on the knees. Mine are ok but I feel a bit in my right knee.

great crunchin!

I tried a kettle bell workout for about a week once. The bell was heavy and I nearly threw my shoulder out. Sorry. Not one of my favorite workouts.
