Sarah F's Thursday Nix the Fix

I wasn't able to post this yesterday due to the traveling that I did, but I still wanted to post it today.

Yesterday morning I woke up at 5:30 and did a morning run. It's beautiful in Phoenix in the morning (the weather I mean... I'm not a fan of the all around look of Phoenix).

Breakfast: Protein Bar and Banana (2 Pts)
Snack: Nuts and Dried fruit & Coffee with skim milk (2 pts)
Lunch: Turkey Sanwich on whole grain bread with lettuce, tomatoe, and spicy mustard. Side salad with ligth ranch dressing (1/2 packet 30 calories) (2 pts)
Snack: 1/2 protein bar and diet soda (1 pt)
Dinner: Light ham sandwich on whole grain baggett with spicy dijon mustard... it came with cheese, but I took it off. Apple (2 pts)
I had a late flight, so on the plane I ate the other half of the protein bar and had a coffee with light creamer (an extra shot of espresso though!) (1 pt)

Tip: When traveling it's sometimes hard to find things that are healthy. I ran into this problem when I tried myself dinner at the airport! There were salad that had 750 calories in them. So, don't think that just because it's a "Salad" that it's healthy for you. Instead, I chose a sandwich that had cheese & bacon, and I just pulled it off. It still tasted great!

Hi Sarah,
I know just what you mean about eating away from home. When we travel on furlough, it is always tough to find a place to eat where everything is not calorie laden and where the servings for one look like they could feed a family of 4. Now you know why most missionaries have a weight problem (aside from the fact that we also sit in the car and travel for days on end : )
Got this in my e.mail today from Joy Bauer - intersting - because my Dad is always ordering this "healthy" salad at McD´s.
"For instance, a McDonald's Quarter Pounder contains 410 calories and 19 grams of fat, while its Premium Caesar Salad With Grilled Chicken and Caesar dressing contains 490 calories and 24 grams of fat. The culprit here is the dressing, which adds a whopping 190 calories and 18 grams of fat,"
Hope you get to go home soon.
Love,
Joy

Totally know I fear traveling for that reason!
