Hello from Siberia

Hello everyone!

My name is Tami, and my family and I have been missionaries in Russia since 2000. I have been participating in Dani Joy's challenges since her first one. Fortunately during the first and second challenges, I lost the weight that I wanted, and now I am primarily working to maintain. I still would love to lose a few inches in the hips and thighs. I'm the blonde one in the picture, and as you can see, my extra weight tends to settle below my waist.

Besides losing some inches, a bigger reason I want to exercise is to improve my cardiovascular health. Our family has lots of heart problems and cancer, and I would like to diminish my own risks as much as possible. That point was brought home to me in the pastyear, as my aunt had both cancer and a heart attack. Then on September 30, my dad had a heart attack. Praise the Lord, his life was spared, but he has a long recovery ahead of him.

My daughter, Ashley, will be joining me in this fitness challenge. I'm glad to have her companionship as we both strive to be the best we can be for the Lord.

A little more about me, I have 3 kids who are homeschooled. I'm an RN, and I love to read and research health related issues. I love to garden, and we grow all our own vegetables for our year round use. We are currently in Siberia, but trying to move to another part of Russia to begin a new church plant there. We are selling our home, so when it sells, we will be moving.

Hi Tami! Love your pictures!

Thanks for keeping up and keeping us all motivated.

Would you be willing to answer health and physical questions for the ladies? It would be a huge blessing.

Thank you!

Sure! I would love it! BTW, loved chatting with you tonight. Seems so rare to actually catch someone else online when I am, due to the time differences.

It was so great chatting with you too! ;) I wish I didn´t have to be so rushed sometimes but such is life in the fast ministry lane for us now. jeje. I have to be at our church by 4pm to teach almost everyday now and pretty much am there all evening till 8 or 9. WE love it! It is such a blessing to be busy in the ministry.
I have had so many opportunities to share the gospel with my new teaching clases. We are praying for even more students once we open to the public.
I have almost 10 students now. That was my original prayer request for this new evangelistic outreach.

Thanks so much for being willing to help uout too here on the blog. I will announce it shortly that you will be on hand for questions. ;) or questioning... jeje
