Fitness Tip

There is nothing new under the sun, so I doubt I have anything to offer that is new--especially since I used to be the most anti-exercise person on the face of this earth!  When I needed to bump my exercise up a notch to keep losing weight, I decided to start running.  I am still in shock that I can run at all, let alone run for 3.5 miles!!  I used the program "couch to 5k" for the training.  It was marvelous.  I recommend following some type of program when you are trying to increase your exercise.  That way you'll know if you're pushing enough or not enough.  The program seriously took me from NOTHING to running in just 9 weeks.  Awesome program.  The key is to stick to it.  One thing that gets me through the runs is prayer.  I have found that my walk or run times have become great times of praying for others and communing with the Lord.  They are times that I now relish instead of dread.

Donna, AMEN!! ;) And Three Cheers! ;)

Alice also did the Couch to 5K. My Dad calls it the couch potato 5K. I have heard such great things about it though. I thank God for the ability to run. It is envigorating. Praying and quoting scripture is a great way to get through and really enjoy it. I love quoting Psalm 121:1. I think I have it on the side bar. I have been quoting it with my friend as we do the shred too! ;) What a great reminder of where our strength comes from.

Thank you for mentioning these!

Springing with ya,

I'm doing Jillian's shred as well! But not every day...just on days I don't run.
