Leslie Sansone videos

Hi.
I know Dani has mentioned these to me, via RealAge, but our computer isn't in a spot where I can exercise. I looked at Barnes and Noble, and they have a bunch...too many to choose from. Any recommendations on which ones to start with?
Thanks so much,
Cindy

Cleanses safe while nursing?

Hi Ladies -
I am not sure if anyone is reading this before the 4th, but I am wondering if there are any safe cleanses to do while nursing. Baby Anna is 5 1/2 mos old and nursing exclusively, so anything I do need to be viewed from that aspect.
Not sure if a cleanse would be best or just radically changing the way I eat.
thanks so much!

A new day to start over

Hi again.
I am sorry about yesterday's post...I wear my emotions for all to see.

Today is a better day. Nothing's really different, but I feel better.

Poor Jeff was beside himself b/c I was such a wreck when he came home (crying and all the mess. He took all 3 girls to our oldest's dance class so I could just chill, and I was better when he came home. (He wanted to know what was wrong, (he's a fixer), but I only kind of knew what had me so upset...pretty sure the PG hormones had something to do with it!) :) After some time I knew it wasn't just my exercise and eating that had me so "blah" yesterday. Lots of late nights and early mornings for Jeff and no time to really talk to each other, long week with kids and schooling, but even more so - I realized that I need to get with God and really talk.

I tried to pray and got frustrated for a bit - I am realizing I have no prayer life other than at our dinner times. I thought I was getting a handle on this also...
But, anyway...today is better. I am starting the weekend with a new attitude, and a hope to really learn to talk to Jesus! (Is that what I need to learn before this health thing??) God can use even my "un-fitness" to draw me closer to Him! He is so good!!
have a wonderful weekend & keep up the good work!!

Blah - end of week one

Well, I had one small success this week - I am teaching myself to drink enough water! Tuesday and Wednesday were actially the right amount. I did not weigh /measure myself.
Sadly though, I realized I am having a hard time giving up my sweets. I am not even to the point of the white sugar and white flour. :( Without thinking several hershey kisses disappear at a shot...sometimes, there was a fleeting thought that I just completely dismissed.
Am I not ready for this? Am I too weak to do this? I am outright in rebellion? Maybe I don't really want to change...I don't know. Feeling kind of pathetic, and knowing I set a bad example for the kids (when I let them see me eating the junk food).

Cindy P. Journal - OIGH

Well, it's been a bad food and water week. I am really struggling to drink enough water for myself, let alone for me & the baby plus walking. Any suggestions? I know how much I am drinking, I just can't seem to get it down. (although, thankfully, it's not bouncing back anymore).

On the plus side, God has been so good to us here in Virginia, with beautiful weather the past week. Once our "germs" cleared out we were able to have the windows open for two days and have enjoyed walking and playing outside. Yesterday, Jeff got home in time for us to go to the park and walk the nature trails. We saw 16 deer, geese, and swans.

I have a 2 year old who wants to be down to walk - how do I keep a good pace? My 10 and almost 8 year old are no problem, and last summer we were all running together, with the lil one in the jogger. Pushing the jogger with a 30lb kiddo is great, but she won't stay in the stroller that long anymore. She is also not napping, so finding the time to be outside (which I am craving) to walk, is getting harder.

Again, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, but mostly I covet your prayers. I am having a hard time asking God for help in this area. (Maybe the accountability part??)

Thanks so much, Ladies! I am loving reading your posts.

Throwin' them out there...

Hi again, Ladies.

I hesitated greatly about doing my measurements, especially since I am 19 wks pregnant, but I think I needed the reality check. And I hope, with the exercise and eating better, that I will see inches lost, at least in some places while I know others will go up. Again, I am hoping that my weight will maintain or just go up a little as the baby gets bigger.

On 2-15 On 2-16 201.6 lbs
Bust 43"
Chest 38"
Waist 44"
Hips 46"
Arms - Left 13 1/2" Right - 13 1/2"
Thighs - Left 25 1/2" Right 26"
Calves - Left 16 1/4" Right 16"

That was harder than I expected...although not as difficult as getting the tape measurer, which is ALWAYS on my desk, actually out and on my body. Even before we knew we were pregnant, I was at my biggest, outside of the last couple months of pregnancy. I want to be healthier, I want to set a better example of eating right and moving for a fun and active lifestyle, not to lose, for my 3 girls and the baby. I do not want to give myself a preventable disease, which I fear I could be close to.

Thank you, Dani Joy, for creating this group, and thank you, ladies for being real women of God willing to share your journey.

?? worldly stuff in exercise dvd & loving my body

I have a question..or rather a few.
My first one is about the music used in exercise videos, etc. I am trying not to listen to the world's music, but many of the videos play dance music to keep the pace upbeat. Are there Christian DVD's out there?
Yoga - I have heard it is great for stretching, toning, and balance, but all of the people I have seen on tv are doing the whole yoga package with the "namaste" and stuff. Is there an equivalent without the mumbo-jumbo attached? I read on review on CBD about a dvd of "christian yoga" and it said it was horrible.
Lastly, I am really struggling with the line between loving the way God made me (curvy, 5'3 3/4" and stocky even when really fit) and needing to exercise and eat right. I do not like the way I look or feel right now, but I know I am fearfully and wonderfully made. My loving hubby says he loves me the way I am, but I know he loved the more fit me when we were married too. and I have a hard time reconciling my brain/heart with both. Once I start becoming fit, how do I know when this is good, God says maintain here so that my exercise and fitness doesn't become an idol (although this is a long way away for me).
As I am writing, I can see how so much of my fitness or lack of it is tied to the emotional part of me. Oigh!
Anyway, thank you for listening...

?? Preggo Exercise & Plans

Hi, Ladies.
I am so happy to be connected with Christian women and their fitness journeys intstead of being bombarded with the worldly messages about size, etc.
My OB has given me the ok to exercise, and she put it rather plainly that I should not gain much more than 10lbs with this pregnancy, so what should I do, girls? The weathere here in Virginia has finally gotten nice enough to go walking, but the kids (all 3) have been sick. I love the idea of things I can do in my house, that I can involve the girls in when the feel better, but all of the tapes I have are very bouncy/intense.
Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome. I did not lose the baby weight after baby #3, and we were blessed with baby #4 just as I was brain-ready to begin doing something about my health. My hubby is on board with all of us eating better and exercising together.
Thank you so much, and many blessings to you all.
